The Miss Namibia 2025 beauty pageant took place on July 19, at Queens Hall in Ongwediva making history as it was hosted in Northern Namibia for the first time. This year’s theme was “Calibrating at a High Level of Consciousness,” which aimed at pushing positive changes and raising awareness about important matters.

Johanna Swartbooi, a 27 year old model and accessory designer from Vollgraff, was crowned Miss Namibia 2025. Through her initiative, #Nu/Goa, she thrives to help youth creatives develop their skills. “My goal is to address the lack of research and development in our creative space,” she says. “We need better systems that allow artists to work professionally and sustainably.”

Uatjiri Mbaisa, 27, from Otjinene took the title of the 1st Runner Up as well as the Public Choice Award. The 2nd Runner Up award was dedicated to Tuilika Andrea, a 25 year old vibrant model from Walvis Bay.

The event was hosted by media personalities Aina Raiza Kweyo and Jeanne-Danae Januarie who showcased some amazing talent, and insightful interviews throughout the night. The event was broadcast live on Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), witnessed by figures such as the Vice President, Lucia Witbooi. The highlight of the event was that for the first time the winner walked away with a brand-new home and a  car along with other life-changing prizes.

The Diamond Manufacturing Association of Namibia was the main sponsor of the event. They’ve provided gorgeous jewellery for the contestants. Miss Namibia chief executive, Umbi Karuaihe-Upi, says that she was thrilled with how everything turned out, especially in shining a light on northern Namibia as a tourist and cultural hotspot.

Johanna’s victory, along with the achievements of Mbaisa and Andreas, marks a fresh chapter for Miss Namibia. A platform embracing leadership, diversity, and the magic of dreams. As Johanna gets ready to take on the global stage, it’s clear that Namibia is united behind a queen who shines not just for herself but for every young dreamer out there.
