Turning Persistence into Purpose

Campus Connect
Turning Persistence into Purpose

-Cipriano Sirongo (UNAM Main Campus- Vice President)

The University of Namibia (UNAM) is buzzing again. After the break, the campus is full of energy and excitement. For many students, getting here was not easy. There were delays, appeals, and a few “will I make it?” moments. But now you’re here, ready to start the new academic year.

Need a Hand?

Applications are online and student assistants with red reflectors and SRC members are around to guide you. Feel free to ask any questions. They can help with registration, show you the online system, show you registration points and are ready to respond to any queries you might have. The SRC offices are in the T block, always open to assist you, represent you or just give a friendly smile or high five, between the Computer Centre and Language Centre. And so are their contact details and admission officers, all available on our social media platforms.

First-Year Advice

To all first-year students, welcome! University is not a race. Take your time to settle in, ask questions, and get help when you need it. Get involved in campus life. Join societies or sports clubs, be an assistant to an SRC member, just be active, and most importantly, be your genuine self. You will make friends, gain confidence, and enjoy your time at UNAM. Every student admitted has earned their place.

Orientation is full of activities to help first-years get comfortable, meet people, and start university life on the right foot.

SRC in Action

The SRC is here for you this year, following the principle Leadership that listens, actions that speak. Expect guidance, support, and clear information to make your university experience easier and more enjoyable.

UNAM is not only a university, but it is also a community, a family. With effort, focus, and getting involved, this year is yours to own.

Cipriano Sirongo is the SRC Vice President at the UNAM Main Campus. You can find him on Campus, or on Instagram @cipriano_nelsonville
