The recent clash between DJ Spuzza and Shax Champion has sparked a wave of online debate and fan reactions especially on Instagram and Tiktok. The drama reportedly began after a collaborative track between the two artists was allegedly posted on Apple Music under DJ Spuzza’s name alone.
Despite both artists appearing on artwork, Shax Champion saw this as betrayal for not being accredited or recognised sparking accusations and online shade. DJ Spuzza didn’t just respond, he retaliated with a full-blown track. The lyrics were sharp, the beat was bold, and the message was clear: he wasn’t here to play nice.
The track quickly gained traction with fans calling it “the hardest drop of the year”. Shax Champion responded with a hit, teaming up with Musketeers on their brand-new track “Kop Pyne”. But the drop didn’t come without drama — the artist took direct aim at DJ Spuzza, accusing him of stealing his song. Speaking to Campus Connect, Shax Champion stated that he never intended to hate on anybody.
“The fact that he didn’t acknowledge me on a song I actually worked hard for and placed all my effort into is what makes the matter worse.” He further stressed that the fans are the ones making matters worse between the two, stating that Spuzza and him are still good “bruhs and there is no Nje!”. Namibian Tiktok lit up with commentary. Creators reenacted the beef, by dropping reaction videos, and even mixing the tracks.
According to online fans, Shax Champion had to react the way he did, “if I was in his shoes, I would’ve even sued Spuzza. He needs to understand the importance of accreditation,” a fan said. The online community was split into two teams. Team Spuzza , praising him for his lyrical dominance, while Team Shax defended his artistic integrity. As of now DJ Spuzza announced that the beef was squashed, and both artists seem to be moving on.
He addressed the ongoing tension with Shax Champion, putting rumors to rest. He clarified that he did not steal any song, explaining that someone in the industry has been uploading music under other artists’ names. He also reminded everyone that beef is bad for business, urging artists to focus on growth, collaboration, and the music itself rather than conflicts.
With this statement, Spuzza is calling for professionalism and unity in Namibia’s music scene, while fans eagerly await Shax Champion’s next move.
