International Training College Lingua (ITCL) has graduated more than 1000 students this year, marking a significant milestone in its expansion as one of Namibia’s fastest-growing private higher learning institutions.

The graduation ceremony, held in Windhoek in July 2025, was attended by students, families, staff, and dignitaries, celebrated under the theme “A Legacy of Learning, a Future of Innovation,” highlighting the institution’s commitment to empowering individuals through education.

ITCL founder and chief executive officer Ingrid Kloppers-Mettler said the college’s growth reflects its mission to serve communities beyond the capital. “We celebrate perseverance, progress, partnership, and potential,” Kloppers-Mettler said. “Our graduates are not just receiving certificates, they are stepping into roles that will shape the future of this country.”

The college has recently opened satellite campuses in Rehoboth and Usakos, offering full-time, part-time, and distance learning options. These expansions aim to reduce barriers to education for students in remote areas. ITCL’s graduates include professionals in education, business, communication, and public administration who have already secured employment and some have returned to their communities to contribute to local development.

The student representative council told Campus Connect that the institution had provided more than academic knowledge and that the college taught them how to lead, how to serve, and how to believe in themselves, which showcase how Lingua is playing a role in Namibia’s educational sector.

The college is currently transitioning toward full university status, with plans to introduce postgraduate programmes and expand its research capacity. The institution also runs vocational training and consultancy services, further extending its reach into the public and private sectors.
