International Training College Lingua (ITCL) is set to expand its national presence with the opening of two new regional campuses in Rehoboth and Usakos in January 2026, with additional campuses planned for Oshakati, Walvis Bay, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo.

The announcement was made by Founder and CEO Ingrid Kloppers-Mettler during the graduation ceremony held on 24 May  in Windhoek, where over 1,000 students received qualifications ranging from certificates to honours degrees.

“This expansion is not just about constructing new campuses, it is about bringing education closer to home for students across Namibia,” Kloppers-Mettler said. “Our goal is to ensure that every learner, no matter where they live, has access to quality, affordable education within their own community.

The announcement marks a significant milestone in Lingua’s journey, reflecting its steady growth since its founding and its mission to decentralize education and skills training. In addition to the academic campuses, three vocational training centres will be established in Usakos, Gobabis, and Outapi, further strengthening Lingua’s commitment to skills development and regional empowerment.

A Legacy of Access and Empowerment

Founded with a vision to make tertiary education more accessible, Lingua College has grown into a multi-disciplinary institution offering full-time, part-time, and distance learning options. Its expansion into underserved regions reflects a strategic effort to decentralize education and reduce barriers for rural students.

In an interview with Campus Connect diploma graduate in Business Administration, Selma Haingura expressed that this opportunity will save her from travelling to the city just to further her study.

“Lingua gave me a second chance,” she said. “I could not afford to study in Windhoek, but with the new campus opening in Usakos, students like me will not have to leave home to pursue their dreams.”

Tuhafeni Paulus, currently pursuing his diploma in Human Resource (HR) at ITCL added that, “This is what transformation looks like. It is not just about expanding, it is about including everyone.

Looking Ahead

The new campuses are expected to offer a range of programmes in business, education, information technology, and health sciences, tailored to the needs of each region. The expansion also aligns with Namibia’s national development goals, particularly in addressing youth unemployment and regional inequality.

“We are not just training students, we are building communities,” Kloppers-Mettler emphasized. “Every campus we open is a promise to the future.”

As Lingua Training College prepares to celebrate its next chapter, the expansion stands as a testament to its founding vision: to empower Namibians through education that is relevant, inclusive, and transformative.
